I see this and raise you to a Virgil has no idea what sex is. He has a son? Irrelevant. We all saw how confused he was when Dante told him Nero was his son, he doesn't have a CLUE where that came from.
None of the Spardas know what sex is except V who took over Vergil's brain for the entirety of Nero's conception
